I just realised I should probably post some evidence that I actually have started doing audience research and collected data, rather than you just taking my word for it.
Here is some of the data I've collected on Facebook.
I've also done questionnaires, which I'll scan when my printer decides to actually work.
So, to conclude, I have conducted some audience research. I will do more.
Cool, thanks very much. And thanks for the assistance as a blue person today too.
There'll be a big post where you get to combine all this research together incoming.
What would be most useful for you all, do you think, who are off on all these uni/extra curricular events over the next three weeks - blog posts just having a 'homework' label added / excel sheet on the pupil drive / a booklet / all three?
That's quite alright, I'm sure I was pretty useless as I kept tripping over my own feet but hopefully it's all good.
Oh, yay, more homework. It's just as well I lack any social skills, or else I might have had a social life, and then where would we have been?!
I think blog posts would be good and I, personally, think the excel thing is a good idea because it sets it out clearly and that's the only way my brain will be able to process it all :')
Apologies if this comes up twice - daughter just tried to eat the internet.
Thanks. I'll do all three options.
Have added a 'HOMEWORK' label to all relevant posts. I'll get a summative post of all homeworks up this weekend and will shove across an excel sheet at the start of next week.
Oh yeah. Had a brainwave for you re. independent and rather original audience research you may want to consider / disregard as the ideas of a fool.
You know you're proposed tracks are mates'/family/unsigned bands? Well, try and get them to give you audience feedback too. And when you're sharing the proposed tracks with your audience you could try getting the creators to the tracks to tell you what they think of their song / why they think people should choose it / what they think the video could include / who they see their audience as being etc etc.
Is Raph the guy with the band on Facebook with something like 500 followers? Not that you should skew your audience research to mean you have to use them or anything but if they turn out to be have the track you use you've got an amazing potential for loads of audience feedback right there (if they wanted to share links to your work in progress with their fan base). Not that I'm trying to steer you towards them, just full of bright ideas at the minute and feel like sharing.
That is a good idea, I was thinking of trying to make use of their fans forresearch if we used them. Raph's really great so hopefully he won't mind sharing the links if we do one for them.

No harm in asking 'em!
Last post riddled with bad grammar.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea, I'll bug my stepdad and Raph until they agree to help.
